Breakfast is not included in our standard accommodation rate. Guests staying at The Nenthorn Farmhouse can pre-order our Breakfast Hamper, with a selection of breakfast provisions provided for you to enjoy at your leisure.

Guests travelling as part of some Rail Trail agent itineraries may have breakfast included. Please check your booking confirmation or itinerary

Yes. Home-cooked evening meals are available to guests staying at The Nenthorn Farmhouse by prior arrangement. Meals are prepared in advance for you to heat and enjoy at a time that suits you.

As we are rurally located and prepare meals specifically for our guests, please order before your stay.

Absolutely. Both The Nenthorn Farmhouse and The Farm Cottage have full, well-equipped kitchens for guests who prefer to prepare their own meals.

As there are no supermarkets close to Havrincourt, we recommend purchasing groceries before you arrive.

The Farm Cottage has a full kitchen for guests who prefer to self-cater. For contractors, work crews and longer workforce stays, we are also happy to discuss catering options to suit your requirements. Please contact us in advance to discuss what may be available for your stay.

Havrincourt is rurally located, so we recommend purchasing groceries before you arrive if you plan to self-cater.

Depending on your direction of travel, supermarkets are available in Ranfurly and Palmerston, or in Mosgiel and Dunedin. Middlemarch has a small store with a limited range of supplies.

We also keep a selection of snacks and beverages available for guests to purchase.

You are very welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks. We also have a selection of snacks and beverages available through our online Farm Store.

Stock varies, so we recommend checking the store shortly before your stay. This can be particularly handy for guests cycling the Otago Central Rail Trail who would prefer not to carry extra supplies on their bikes.

We can accommodate some dietary requirements, including gluten-free and dairy-free options, with advance notice. As our meals are prepared in our home kitchen, we need to know about all food allergies and dietary requirements before you order.

While we take care when preparing food for guests with allergies, our kitchen handles a range of allergens and we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or the absence of cross-contact.

If you have a serious allergy, multiple allergies or complex dietary requirements, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss whether we can safely accommodate your needs.

Some vegetarian and vegan options may be available by prior arrangement. As these may require changes to the meal for the whole group, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss the options available for your stay.

We provide one choice of main and one choice of dessert per booking, much as you would enjoy a shared meal at home.

Where a dietary requirement means one guest cannot have the selected dessert, we may be able to provide a suitable alternative by prior arrangement.

Our evening meal option is prepared for the number of guests included in your accommodation booking, so dinner needs to be ordered for the whole group.

The exception is children aged four and under, for whom you are welcome to self-cater while ordering dinner for the remaining guests.

Our children’s meals are available only for children aged 12 years and under and are generally around half the size of an adult portion.

Guests aged 13 years and over will need to order an adult meal. If you would prefer an adult-sized portion for a child aged 12 or under, you are very welcome to order an adult meal for them at the standard adult price.

We’d be happy to discuss ways we may be able to make a special occasion at Havrincourt a little more memorable. Depending on availability, we may be able to arrange a celebration cake, a special bottle of wine or another request.
