Located just 14 minutes from Macraes in the peaceful Nenthorn Valley, The Farm Cottage provides comfortable, self-contained accommodation for contractors, project teams and workers requiring accommodation close to the Macraes operation.
The cottage offers exclusive use of the entire property and features three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, unlimited Wi-Fi and good mobile phone coverage. Whether you’re working short-term on a project or require accommodation for an extended stay, The Farm Cottage provides a practical and comfortable home away from home.
Set on our working sheep and beef farm, the cottage offers a quiet rural environment where guests can relax after work and enjoy uninterrupted rest between shifts.

The Farm Cottage provides practical, comfortable accommodation for workers requiring a base close to Macraes. With exclusive use of the property, there is no sharing with other guests, making it ideal for individuals, workmates or project teams.
The cottage offers three bedrooms, a full kitchen, laundry facilities, unlimited Wi-Fi and ample parking. Located in a quiet rural setting, it provides a comfortable place to rest and recharge between shifts while remaining only a short drive from Macraes.
Guests have full and exclusive use of the cottage and the immediate area surrounding it, extending to the hedge at the rear of the property which separates the cottage from our homestead and private garden.
As The Farm Cottage is located on a working sheep and beef farm, access beyond the garden fence is by prior arrangement only. This helps ensure the safety of our guests and the welfare of our livestock.
Please note that access to some areas of the farm may be restricted during lambing and calving seasons.
The cottage is set up for independent stays, and guests can enjoy complete privacy throughout their visit. We live nearby on the farm and are available should any issues arise or assistance be required during your stay.
Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is by 10 am. We understand that work and shift schedules vary, so alternative arrival or departure times may be available by prior arrangement.
Booking, Payment & Cancellation Policy
We understand that work at Macraes can be affected by weather, operational requirements and changing project schedules. Our booking terms are designed to provide practical flexibility for workforce accommodation while recognising that reserving The Farm Cottage prevents us from accepting other bookings.
Payment
A tax invoice will be emailed to the booking contact when the reservation is confirmed. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date by bank transfer, using the invoice number as the payment reference.
For bookings made at short notice, guests may arrive before the invoice due date.
If a booking is subsequently changed or cancelled in accordance with the cancellation terms below, the invoice will be adjusted or credited as appropriate.
For longer stays, alternative payment arrangements may be agreed with the booking company when the reservation is confirmed.
Bookings of 1–4 nights
Bookings of up to four nights may be cancelled or changed without charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled 2:00 pm check-in time.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of check-in will be charged one night’s accommodation.
Bookings of 5 nights or more
Bookings of 5 nights or more are subject to separate cancellation and payment terms, which will be agreed with the booking company before the reservation is confirmed.
These terms will reflect the length of the stay and the number of nights being reserved.
Weather and changes to work schedules
We understand that work at Macraes can change at short notice due to weather, operational requirements or changes to work programmes.
Please contact us as soon as you become aware that accommodation may no longer be required. Where possible, we are happy to work with companies to transfer accommodation to alternative dates rather than cancel the booking. Any transfer is subject to availability and agreement with Havrincourt Farm.
No-shows
If guests do not arrive and we have not been advised that the accommodation is no longer required, the full value of the booked stay will be charged.
For bookings of 5 nights or more, the cancellation and payment terms agreed when the reservation was confirmed will apply.
Early departures and shortened stays
If a stay needs to be shortened after guests have arrived, please contact us as soon as possible.
Charges for unused nights will be considered according to the circumstances, including weather-related or operational changes, and the cancellation terms applicable to the booking.
Discounted longer stays
Our accommodation rates are discounted according to the length of stay. If a booking is shortened, the accommodation already used may be recalculated at the rate applicable to the actual length of stay.
